The Conference on Opportunities in and Promotion of Green Energy with focus on Solar Power held on 12 Nov, 2016 at Nagpur, was highly successful. This conference was inaugurated by Power Minister of Maharashtra Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankulewho announced a number of new policy initiatives to sort out the constraints and to accelerate the development of renewable energy, especially solar power in Maharashtra.The quality of speakers and their presentation was outstanding, which included speakers from MEDA, MSEB, Green Job Council, CREDA, Private Sector, R&D etc. They covered many aspects of solar power in Maharashtra. There were about 170 participants for this focused conference, which we were informed is unprecedented in Nagpur. A Knowledge paper on Solar Policy & scenario of Maharashtra prepared by Yes Bank, Yes Institute & IFGE, was released on this occasion, which was appreciated by everybody.
