Clean & Green Transport for Delhi-NCR – Alternatives & Solutions
The one-day conference on ‘Clean and Green Transport for Delhi-NCR: Alternatives and Solutions’ was organized by IFGE on 8th July, 2016 at India International Centre in Delhi. The conference was attended by nearly 125 participants from various relevant organisations including transport technology providers, manufactures of fuels and vehicles, transporters, transport authorities, consultants, various environmental organisations and agencies such as Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and academic institutions such as IIT and School of Planning and Architecture, to name a few. The conference had the proud presence of about 25 renowned speakers who are expert and eminently recognized in their respective areas of air pollution, transport planning and operation.The conference was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C) for Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) Shri Anil Madhav Dave, who is a hands on ecologist and environmentalist. The Minister was welcomed warmly & succinctly by Dr. Vidya Murkumbi, the Founder President of IFGE, in her welcome address. Shri Annasaheb M K Patil, founder Vice chairman of IFGE and a former cabinet minister for Rural Development, introduced Shri Dave to the audience citing brief account of his illustrious journey of life and accomplishments especially work for the protection of river Narmada and people living in its valley. He also set the agenda for the proceedings for the day by his wise advice.
